What is a CS2 trade-up?
A CS2 trade-up contract allows players to exchange multiple lower-tier skins for one higher-tier skin.
The outcome is determined by a probability system based on the input items, their collections, and in-game trade-up mechanics.
Are all trade-ups profitable?
No. Only some trade-ups are considered profitable based on current market prices and expected return calculations.
Many trade-ups result in a loss, while others may offer a positive expected return depending on market conditions.
What does “profitable trade-up” mean?
A profitable trade-up means that the expected return (ROI) is above 100%, meaning that on average the trade-up is statistically favorable over many attempts.
Does profitable mean guaranteed profit?
No. A profitable trade-up does not guarantee that every single attempt will result in profit.
It only means that the average expected return is positive based on probability and current market prices.
Is TradeupHunter free to use?
Yes. TradeupHunter is free to use.
The platform also offers optional Premium access, which unlocks additional features such as access to premium profitable trade-ups, increased saved trade-up slots, and other enhanced functionality.
The base version of TradeupHunter remains free for all users.

Is Steam login safe?

For maximum security, we strongly recommend being logged into Steam through the official Steam website before using Steam login on third-party sites.
If you are already logged into Steam on your browser and a website asks you to manually enter your Steam credentials again, this may indicate a phishing attempt. Always verify that you are using the official Steam login page.

Where does TradeupHunter get market prices from?
The primary source of pricing data used by the site is the Steam Community Market. To ensure the calculations provided on the site are as accurate as possible, prices may be adjusted based on data from other marketplaces, particularly when Steam Market prices are unstable or when rare items have limited sales data.
In rare situations where market data is unavailable, unstable, or highly volatile, estimated values may be used temporarily to maintain functionality and calculation consistency.
How often are prices updated?
Market prices and trade-up calculations are refreshed automatically approximately once every 24 hours.
In some cases, displayed values may temporarily differ from current Steam Market prices due to rapid market movement or API-related limitations.
How are profitability and odds calculated?
TradeupHunter calculates expected return values, profitability estimates, and exact outcome probabilities based on available market data and CS2 trade-up mechanics.
Certain game mechanics, such as float generation behavior and specific interactions, are not publicly documented by Valve. Because of this, some calculations are based on empirically gathered data and large-scale testing in order to recreate the mechanics as accurately as possible.
Minor inaccuracies may occasionally occur due to price rounding, market volatility, or limitations of publicly available Steam Market data.
While we aim for maximum accuracy, all calculations should be treated as informational estimates rather than guaranteed results.
Does TradeupHunter include Steam Market fees?
Users can choose whether profitability calculations should include or exclude Steam Market selling fees.
While Steam commonly labels marketplace fees as 15%, the actual effective fee deducted from completed Steam Market sales is 13%.
TradeupHunter uses the effective real marketplace fee in its calculations in order to provide realistic profitability estimates.
UPDATE: With the introduction of the new Steam Community Market update, the displayed and effective Steam fee is fixed at 15%.
Can I fully customize my own trade-ups?
Yes. Users can fully customize trade-up inputs within the limitations imposed by the official CS2 trade-up system.
TradeupHunter automatically validates restrictions such as:
- rarity compatibility,
- float range limitations,
- collection restrictions,
- and other trade-up requirements.
Are profitable trade-ups guaranteed profit?
No. Profitability estimates are based on market conditions at the time calculations are performed.
A “profitable” trade-up does not mean that every single outcome will result in profit. Instead, it indicates that the expected return (ROI) is above 100%, meaning that on average, over many repeated trade-ups, the returns are statistically in favor of profit.
Profitable trade-ups are calculated as profitable at the moment they are revealed on the Site. However, CS2 market prices can change rapidly over time due to supply, demand, and overall market activity.
Because of this, a trade-up that was previously profitable may, but does not necessarily have to, later become less profitable or unprofitable.
TradeupHunter does not guarantee profit or financial gain from any trade-up.
How often do new trade-ups appear?
New free and two premium trade-ups are released every 7 days.
When new trade-ups are added, the oldest trade-up from both the free and premium pools is removed and replaced with the new one.
How are profitable trade-ups selected?
Profitable trade-ups are manually researched and created by experienced TradeupHunter team members based on market analysis, profitability calculations, and trade-up experience.
New free and two premium trade-ups are typically revealed approximately every 7 days.
Why did a previously profitable trade-up become unprofitable?
Trade-up profitability depends heavily on market prices, item supply, demand, and overall market activity.
Because CS2 market conditions change constantly, profitability may increase or decrease over time after a trade-up is published or saved.
Does TradeupHunter support StatTrak™ trade-ups?
Yes. StatTrak™ trade-ups are supported whenever valid StatTrak™ equivalents exist within the corresponding collections and rarities.
Some collections or skins may not have StatTrak™ variants available.
Does TradeupHunter support Souvenir trade-ups?
No. Souvenir items cannot be used in CS2 trade-up contracts and therefore are not supported by the Site.
UPDATE: With Valve’s update from 22.05.2026, souvenir trade-ups have become possible. Souvenir items obtained from Souvenir Packages can now be used in trade-ups on the Site.
Why do saved trade-ups sometimes show different prices?
Saved trade-ups preserve price information from the moment they were saved, while the calculator itself uses the most recent available market prices.
As market prices change over time, profitability and displayed values may differ from the original saved state.
Why does the Armory tab show prices only in USD?
Prices are displayed only in USD because in-game pass prices can vary slightly between countries due to currency exchange rates and regional pricing adjustments.
The actual cost of an in-game pass may differ slightly depending on your region.
To avoid confusion and calculation errors resulting from currency differences, all prices are displayed in USD.
What is Premium?
TradeupHunter Premium is a time-based access package that unlocks additional features, tools, and exclusive trade-up content for a fixed period.
Is Premium a subscription?
No. Premium is not a subscription and does not renew automatically.
Premium is purchased as a fixed-time package (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or unlimited access).
What does Premium include?
Premium users receive access to additional features and content, including:
- Access to 6 exclusive premium profitable trade-ups
- Increased saved trade-up slots (20 instead of 2 on free plan)
- Expanded historical data for saved trade-ups
- Removal of advertisements from the Site
Free users have access to a limited set of features, including 2 saved trade-up slots and 3 standard profitable trade-ups.
Unlimited Premium Access
The “Unlimited” Premium package does not constitute lifetime access or ownership of TradeupHunter services.
It grants access to Premium features for as long as the service is available and operational.
TradeupHunter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features or services at any time.
How often are new Premium trade-ups added?
New profitable trade-ups, both free and Premium, are typically released every 7 days.
When new trade-ups are added, the oldest trade-up in the pool is replaced. This applies to both free and Premium trade-up pools.
Are Premium trade-ups guaranteed profit?
Premium trade-ups are calculated as profitable at the time of release based on current market conditions.
However, CS2 market prices can change over time, which means a trade-up that was previously profitable may later become less profitable or unprofitable, although this does not necessarily have to happen.
Can I share my Premium access?
No. Premium access is intended for individual use only and may not be shared, transferred, or resold.
Can I get a refund for Premium?
Refunds may be requested by contacting support. However, we reserve the right to refuse refund requests in cases of abuse or misuse.
Because Premium provides immediate access to exclusive digital content, refunds may not always be granted once access has been used.
